As salaam Alaikum,

I am a new member to this list (muslimconverts.com ). I have been Muslim for five years, al hamdullilah. I am an African American male convert, 43 years of age.

I am emerging from the beginning and the isolation of being between my old jahiliyyah and this blessed new life of al Islam. I think one of the biggest questions facing all converts is one of hijra.

Allah has blessed me with many excellent Masjids near my present home, but with that, here in South Florida, there are many ignorant people hostile to Islam. Insha Allah I can be a Muslim who does not seek conflict, but one who brings peace. May Allah make us all this way.
